Lessons
I teach both violin and viola to students of all ages and abilities, using both traditional and Suzuki methods. For more information about me and the Suzuki method, go to http://suzukiassociation.org/people/marissa-ferro and http://suzukiassociation.org.
Lessons are either on a private or semi-private basis in 30, 45, and 60 minutes intervals. The following times are strongly recommended. This is to make sure that the student makes the maximum progress.
Pre-Twinkle - Book 1: 30 minutes
Book 2 - Book 4: 45 minutes
Book 5 & up: 60 minutes
If you have a string trio, quartet, or other small group in need of coaching, please contact me directly for more information regarding string ensembles.

Recitals
Students participate in recitals and other performance opportunities in the community throughout the school year. The year-end Studio Recital takes place in May or June, and everyone works very hard to play their best! The recital features solos as well as small groups, with and without piano accompaniment. After the recital, everyone mingles and enjoys a potluck-style reception.

Lesson Policies
Tuition is paid on a monthly basis, at or before the first lesson of each month. This monthly payment is your way of securing the student’s weekly lesson time in my schedule. If the student’s first lesson of the month is cancelled, payment must be mailed to me before the next lesson.
Notification of inability to attend a lesson is a courtesy to me, but does not excuse the tuition agreement. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, or do not show up to the lesson, tuition is still due and a make-up lesson will not be granted. If you give me more than 24 hours notice, I will give a make-up when my schedule allows. In the event that you do not attend the scheduled make-up lesson, no other make-up time will be given.
If I cancel a lesson, I will either do a make-up or have a substitute teach for me. It is assumed that I will teach lessons every week, excluding the major holidays, unless otherwise notified. These holidays are: New Year’s, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day,
Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
